Michael Dykes leads Expedia Lodging Partner Services in Japan & Micronesia, managing a team of more than 50 professionals throughout the country to recruit and maintain relationships with lodging partners, giving them tailored revenue management consultation to grow their business across Expedia’s 200+ travel booking websites. He also regularly liaises with influencers in the press, government and travel industry, and is playing a key role in Expedia’s contribution to Japan’s goal of 40 million inbound travellers by 2020.
Michael joins Expedia with a robust background in IT leadership, serving over 12 years in various roles at Microsoft including Director of Corporate Accounts and Director of SMB Sales, giving him experience with clients of all sizes from small business to large enterprises.
Michael grew up in Japan and the U.S., and has native level proficiency in Japanese and English, as well as business level proficiency in German. He earned his BS in Applied Mathematics, with a focus on Computer Science, and a Minor in German from the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
